Classes! CLICK HERE for the class list for both Saturday and Sunday.
Bardic Championship: For the Bardic championship, prepare two bardacious pieces to perform – poems, songs, tales, dance, theater or other suitably bardnificent material. At minimum, one piece should be period or period-adjacent. Your material does not have to be appropriate to your particular persona. Be prepared to share details about the presentations and to provide answers to these questions three:
1. Why do you want to be Bardic Champion?
2. How do you plan to serve the Barony as Bardic Champion?
3. A mystery question, to be asked while you are in the hot seat. Additionally, audience members will be invited to ask questions.
Prepare assiduously, bardifically until the day of, whereupon which inhibition shall be cast aside in favor of inspiring, educating, entertaining, and bardariffically enjoying yourself with good company.
A&S Championship: We are asking a class to be taught for your competition. We want to know about your project intimately, how it’s made, history of it, and why you chose it. If you’re not comfortable with a large amount of people and speaking, we can, of course, accommodate you down to The Baron and The Baroness and the current Champion. This Barony needs someone who is willing to teach a few times within their Championship, even if it’s just at our events. We Champions represent the pride and people of this Barony. Show us what it is that makes you dive headfirst down your A&S rabbit hole. We are excited to hear and see your efforts!
Sunday:
10 am Shield of the Barony Defender: For those heavy fighters who have never won a tournament, be prepared to fight in a Round Robin tournament.
Rapier Point Control Class (for Embers & Ambrosia)
In the Art of Fencing, ’tis a prudent concern
To touch what is aimed for, and cause no one harm
A hands on class, folk will learn by doing
No long winded lecture, or incessant spewing
The fee for this offering is zero to none
Bring only a rapier, and footwear to lunge
All levels are welcome, from novice to seasoned
We’ll cater to all, and aspire to be pleasin’
Honing our skill sets, polish them with heart
Behold as the ordinary transcends into art
Saturday Potluck!
After Saturday evening court, there will be a potluck in the hall. Two hearty soups/stews will be there for a start – both gluten-free, one with meat, and one vegetarian. Please label foods for discrete allergy maintenance and remember a serving utensil. 🙂
(Since we do have the hall, there will be space to set up a crock pot, or hold foods cold until after Court)
With 2 small play areas for smaller children and a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, restrooms and showers, this is a great option to possibly bring friends to see what this is all about.
